Nishiuchi Mariya (31), who has been active as a model and actress, announced her “retirement from the entertainment industry” on May 15 through her Instagram. She said she will be ending her contract with her agency at the end of May.
Although she had continued sharing updates mainly through Instagram and other social media, she hadn’t posted anything since the end of 2024.

I, Mariya Nishiuchi, have decided to retire from the entertainment industry.
Since the start of this year, I’ve stopped updating my social media and haven’t been able to respond to work offers or messages of support. I apologize for causing concern. I will also be ending my contract with my agent at the end of May.
I will refrain from going into detail about the reasons, but earlier this year, I found out that someone close to me had caused some trouble. Although I’m not personally involved, I thought it could potentially become a bigger issue and inconvenience others, so I decided to step back from my activities.
Also, given the situation, I didn’t feel I could properly maintain or update my subscription services, so I chose to suspend them. I’m very sorry I couldn’t explain everything properly.
