Her agency released a statement saying, “Nagano Mei was scheduled to appear in the 2026 Taiga drama ‘Toyotomi Brothers!’ but due to the recent reports causing a lot of trouble and concern for everyone involved, she has decided to withdraw from the project.”
The Taiga dramas usually start filming before summer the previous year, so this decision came right before shooting was about to begin.
