Yuzuru Hanyu believes in the 262 rule after professional and personal struggles

Hanyu seems to have applied this "rule" to human relationships: 20% of the people around you are those who truly understand and trust you, about 60% feel somewhat positively toward you, and the remaining 20% are people you’ll never see eye to eye with.

Among Hanyu’s closest “trusted 2,” the one who’s supported him the most is his mother.

“During his competitive days, she went with him to every event, managing his health and even making his costumes. Even now, she almost always accompanies him for interviews and photo shoots, and reportedly helps supervise things like photobooks with him in detail.

In the Hanyu household, not just his mother but also his father and sister have always supported him fully—and that didn’t change even after he got married. Despite being his wife, Ms. Suenobu was never able to break into that circle. The two never truly connected, and eventually divorced. At that point, he might’ve realized that the only person he could truly count on was his mother.”

Oook, we got it

2. [+58, -15]

I go by the 0–0–10 rule.

3. [+360, -55]

Do you really think 60% of people feel moderately positive about you?

He was always acting all high and mighty, and then ended up getting divorced, lol, pathetic.

5. [+229, -34]

He always has this habit of confidently showing off stuff he’s heard somewhere before like it’s some big revelation.

6. [+331, -20]

I thought there were literally 262 rules, so I was like, “Whoa, impressive!” lol

7. [+266, -24]

He's talking like it’s all the other person’s fault, ugh gross.

I don’t really know the details, but why did they even get married?
And why did they divorce so quickly?
I kinda get Hanyu’s personality from watching his skating days, but what kind of person is the violinist he married? What’s her take on how things turned out like this?

>> Got surprised by the marriage, then shocked by the divorce, and everything just blew over like a storm in no time. It was all so strange. I always imagined that he was the type that, once he found his true love, he’d cherish and stick with her for life. Instead, everything happened so fast.

>> Maybe they got married just on a romantic whim...? But in reality, you’ve gotta make a ton of compromises, meet halfway, and work things out. In the end, they’re both kinda sheltered rich kids, so...

>> I think his wife was around 36 back then, so maybe she wanted to get married quickly? They tried marriage, but it didn’t work out. Still, after getting married, the sales of ice show tickets and merch visibly dropped, so I guess he rushed the divorce. It's so like him making the reason for divorce sound like some kind of noble story, lol.

Basically, he’s a severe mama’s boy, stuck in a codependent relationship with his parents, unable to separate himself from them. These kind of relationships are twisted.

10. [+175, -12]

He just looks like a real pain to deal with, doesn’t he?

11. [+181, -10]

It's hard to fit into a family circle that’s tightly sealed off. The mother-in-law and sister-in-law probably are noisy and strict, too.

I wonder if he even really falls that deeply in love with women to the point of getting married. He kind of seems non-binary or asexual.
